MYBody is offering Adolescent Eating Disorder support for individuals ages 12 to 16 years old. MYBody’s Adolescent Eating Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program runs Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays with convenient after school hours of 4PM to 7 PM EST. In additional to snacks and dinner, 9 hours of intensive outpatient groups based on evidence based treatments like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) , cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) , acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), body neutrality, intuitive eating and more are provided to create a sustainable foundation for eating disorder recovery. Individual psychotherapy and nutrition counseling are included in programming support. Caregivers are required to participate in a weekly group support session, and are also to participate in a community meal once a month. MYBody believes that supporting youth early on in their eating disorder provides a platform to shift into a more secure relationship with food and self. Our programming includes caregivers, as research and years of supporting individuals has shown us that, recovery from disordered eating starts at home.
To begin program the following items are required: a biopsychosocial intake assessment is required, a nutrition assessment with a registered dietitian at MYBody is required, confirmation of medical stability through lab work and any additional medical testing determined.
